Passing of Saba (Dr Fred) LaHood

It is with much regret and deep sadness that we advise Dr Fred (Saba) passed away last Wednesday.   Saba, Marie & their family lived much of his life in Dunedin, where Saba practiced as a General Practitioner in Waverley.  For those of you who knew Saba, it would come as no surprise that he was very highly thought of as a Doctor by his patients and colleagues alike.  I have very fond memories of Saba from the time he & Marie were our neighbours in Maitland Street.  He was always an affible gentleman who had a ready smile and time for a chat.  He was also a very humble man who was an achiever from an early age, becoming Dux of Christian Brothers High School and then going on to become a Doctor of Medicine at a young age.

He was a much loved and respected member of our community and will be dearly missed.

His funeral is being held this morning (Tuesday 8th May) in Wellington.  

Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with Marie & the entire family.
